Deepa Agarwal
Deepa Agarwal is a writer, poet and translator from Delhi, India. She is one of India’s leading writers of children’s books today. She writes adult fiction too. ==Biography==
Deepa Agarwal was born on 23 December 1947 in Almora, Uttarakhand, India to Nancy née Joshi and Dr. Allan Arthur Rawat.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url= http://www.writerstory.com/deepa-agarwal-interview-chanakya-the-master-of-statecraft-book )〕 Her father was a medical practitioner and her mother a teacher and later headmistress of a government girls’ school. She was the fourth of six siblings. Deepa received her early education at Almora at Adams Girls’ School. At the age of seven her parents admitted her in a boarding school, St. Mary’s Convent, also known as Ramnee, in the nearby hill-station of Naini Tal. When she was thirteen they shifted her to La Martiniere Girls’ School in Lucknow. After school she joined Allahabad University and did her M.A. in English Literature. She started her career as a lecturer in English at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College in Delhi.
Presently, she lives in Delhi with her husband, Dilip Agarwal and has three daughters Garima, Sonali and Geetika.
